The Chief's Corner Senator Charles Schumer on January 27th announced that the Kenilworth Fire District 2 will receive $139,413 in federal funds as park of a grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The money will be used to replace outdated breathing apparatus with the state of the art equipment. "This essential grant ensures that the Kenilworth Fire District in Tonawanda will continue to have the basic resources required to do their jobs, improve safety and save lives," said Schumer. "These funds are truly a life saving investment that will provide our local first responders with indispensable resources and support, so they can be better prepared for emergencies The Operations and Firefighter Safety Program funds can go towards training, equipment, personal protective equipment, wellness and fitness, and modifications to fire stations and facilities. |
