A thank you to Nick Solem. On 23 Aug 09, I lost my wallet and keys at Darien Lake. He took the time to find out what vehicle the keys belonged to, left a note and turned in wallet to lost and found. I guess there are some honest people still in this world. Thank you again, brother fire fighter.

Dear fire fighters and their families,
While on vacation from Australia, we have stayed with friends who have
lived in
many areas of Buffalo over the last 57 years.
After attending the Erie County Fair on Friday and seeing such an impressive
turnout of fire fighters and equipment at the parade, I felt compelled to write
to say "Thanks".
We stood at the barrier and my friends announced with pride, many of the station
names that protected their homes over the years.
It was very emotional as we watched your young children ride in the trucks,
waving with excitement, we waved back with Thanks and support. I heard
someone in the crowd say that the sirens and horns were not to be used......
But Thank God you did anyway. What a great way to rally the troops and get
young boys and girls excited about being a fire fighter when they grow up. It
also was a great reminder for us adults, of the brave and dangerous job of fire
fighting and other duties called on your members.
I have worked with our local volenteer fire fighters and know of the time and
effort members and their families endure.

Keep on letting the community know that you are there for them, Keep on ringing
the bells and sirens !!!!
Protect with Pride...The importance of a fire fighter.

Louis McNett / Bernard (Bernie) S Misiur     20 July 2009 19:16 | River Road Vol Fire Co
Gentlemen,

In behalf of The River Road Vol Fire Co Chief Louis McNett and President Bernard S Misiura Jr would like to extend our sincere thanks for the help on 07/20/2009 after the 5,000,000 gallon tank fire. Our truck laid in and dumped 800 feet of 4" and 800 feet of 2 1/2 inch hose.

This meant that we had 1,600 feet of hose which had to be cleaned and 1,600 feet of hose to bed. This job would have taken hours if not for the men that you sent us. The crew you sent made quick work of the process not lasting more than 45 minutes.

Again thank you very much.

Chief Louis McNett
President Bernard S Misiura Jr

It would be nice to show some history of the "ducks". It would also be a compliment to your past members to list in-active Life Members and a list of deceased members.
